Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-driven and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to manage and process accurate, timely payroll. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with payroll laws, maintaining payroll records, and resolving payroll-related questions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, confidential, and experienced with multi-state payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, and benefits
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, commissions, and adjustments
  • Process garnishments, benefits deductions, and tax withholdings
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, and pay changes
  • Prepare payroll reports for management, audits, and accounting
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Paycom, UKG, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, reconciliations, reporting)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
